Article « A new bookshop in your town »

The new bookshop called Shangri-la will open on April 20th 2021. An opening day will be organized the next day with a lot of events.

We are very lucky to have a lot of different and varied bookshops but a new one will open on 19th January of this year. Its name is Shangri-la which means a place where people can find peace and take their time. It comes from a book of James Hilton, Lost Horizon. In the story, a plane crash and the survivors find a place called time is stopped. It is described in the book as a calm area with beautiful landscapes.

It seems that this is the message that want to show the bookshop. Customers and their well-being will be the first criterion. We have interviewed the owner of the bookshop, and she explains to us that there will be a place in the bookshop dedicated to customers where they can read books. “Events and readings will also be organized here. It will be different of other bookshops who don’t have the space sometimes to welcome writers or artists” she concludes.

The way she describes the bookshop, and its concept gives us the willing to come visit it. Who never dream of a bookshop where we can read in peace a book that seems interesting before buy it? Now it is possible with this new bookshop. She even precises that people will be able to reserve to place for their own events like professional meetings for example.
